Students And Educators Evaluate Educational Benefits Of SNNAP

Recently, an online survey was posted on the SNNAP web site. This survey is providing data that evaluate the educational benefits of SNNAP-based simulations. Students, instructors and researchers are responding to the survey. In the first month that the survey was available, 11 respondents indicated that they had used SNNAP and computer simulation as students (see Table 1), 13 as instructors (see Table 2), and 16 as researchers (not shown). In general, the data indicate that using SNNAP-based computer simulations improve a student’s understanding of neuroscience and make an important contribution to neuroscience education. In addition, the data indicate the SNNAP is amenable to both undergraduate and graduate courses. The survey is continuing and updated of the results will be posted on the SNNAP web site.
